Lots and lots of treats :D She taught her to do Spanish Walk in-hand, then asked for a Spanish step right in front of a small tree stump, rewarded when she put her hoof on it, and then when she figured out that she was supposed to leave the hoof up there M asked for a step on the other leg and up she went.
She's taught Barokko to climb trees, too. I taught him to climb up and down banks both in-hand and under rider a long time ago, and since then he'll step up on just about anything (he's even stepped up on the mounting block a few times :/ ). So teaching him to climb trees was just a matter of letting him know she had some treats, pointing him at a solid stump, praising him when he approached and a little tug on the lead rope :D
