Diagnosis

Pneumonia!!! He's got pneumonia... The vet took a bronchoalveolar lavage (fluid squirted into the lungs through the endoscope, and retreived again), which will be analyzed to determine which organism(s) is to blame. The results should be back early next week, and then we'll begin agressive specific treatment. The prognosis is generally good, but she didn't want to say too much before she knows exactly what we're dealing with. So for the next week I just have to keep him happy and comfortable and in very light work.

Hope for a speedt recovery! For a young an strong horse, it will hopefully be quick (one of the horses at my barn go pheunomia during treatment for an injury at a vet hospital, she was 21 and came back just fine! They were worried about her age, though)
